Gina K Designs September Release

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Ok Ok, It’s still hitting 85 degrees everyday where I live, BUTTTT Gina K Designs has released her Christmas Kit and other goodies and I couldn’t be more excited! I have to admit to you that I have had this delivery for a couple weeks now and just now have time to play with and share it with you. It has been a busy, weird couple of weeks in my life and this release sure made me smile when I needed it!

Here is the link to her wonderful website! If you sort it by “latest” you can see all of the new releases first. I will share specific links when I show inspiration for the sets I ordered.

First I think I should share the star of the show! The Joyful Holiday Kit! This kit comes with 2 full size stamp sets with matching dies, one 4x6 stamp set, “Peace” and shadow dies, sentiment die strips, Holiday Sentiment Sheets, and 8 pieces of cardstock. It’s a fantastic deal!

I enjoyed spending some time stamping all of the sweet penguins and their accessories. I stamped them onto watercolor paper using Gina K Designs Obsidian amalgam ink cube. I like to order the ink cubes and re-inkers because I can order more at a time and stay within my monthly budget.

I then spend some time with my cheap watercolor set (that I do not recommend) painting each thing. I kept them all within the same color palette because I was not sure what I wanted to do with them yet. This way the colors would all be coordinating no matter which pieces I decided on. I did add some of my Hydracolor Metallic Watercolors to add some fun metallic details. I do 1,000% recommend these!

Here is the link to them:

I decided to use some simple ink blending techniques and create a scene for my sweet penguins to play in. I simply used Gina K Designs masking magic to make hills and used the blue ink left on my blue blender brush, the grey is from my black blending brush, and the same with my yellow.

Here's the link to the masking magic! It can be used again and again and used for so many ways.

I stamped a cute sentiment and then placed my penguins around it. I used foam tape to lift the whole panel, as well as the cute little coffee cups. The final touch was some flat pearl snowflakes.

As these guys spent some time drying, I decided to play with the Star Struck 4x6 inch stamp set. To me this stamp set screams New Years. I embossed is in gold Recollections Embossing powder onto watercolor paper. I then used Gina K Designs Tranquil Teal and In the Navy dye inks as watercolors to paint the background. I wasn’t very happy with how light it ended up so I went over it with the same colors with blending brushes to darken it all up. Some gold vellum and a white card base made for a very classy New Year’s card!

The layering Perfect Poinsettia stamp set was my next set to play with. Layering stamp sets always make me slow down and truly think through them, but I enjoy the process and usually am very happy with the product. I used cant believe I forgot to write down which inks I used for the flower and leaves but they were all Gina K Designs ink cubes. I promise I will get better at this sharing thing the more I practice it.

I used dies from Master Layouts 2 to create the smaller rectangles and the larger panel as well. This is one of my most used die sets. Here is the link to that:

Aside from the kit, I also ordered the Thankful Heart stamp set. I am fairly OBSESSED with Hannah Drapinski’s sets at Gina K Designs. She designs the most beautiful flower stamps. I love to spend time painting them with my gouache paints. And that is exactly what I did with this one. I stamped it multiple times to paint but have only turned one into a card so far.

I also ordered the Peace on Earth stamp set with its big bold greetings! I created one big giant greeting to create a simple Christmas card. I used lucky clover, fresh asparagus, and Christmas pine Gina K Designs ink cubes to create the ink blended back ground. I embossed the greeting in white Recollections embossing powder before ink blending. To finish off this one I splattered some of my color shift watercolor from Hydracolor! I love the simplicity and festiveness of this card.

The last card I have completed with sets from this release, is using the freebie you receive if you spend $75 or more. This one is called Peaceful Floral. I stamped and embossed the snowflakes in 2 corners of my card panel and water colored over them to create a cold blue background. I started with using the Gina K Designs dye ink pads as watercolors and got a much blotchier look than I wanted. So I used my blending brushes over to smooth it out some. I again spattered some Hydracolor watercolors over it. I stamped a greeting from the Peach on Earth set on a strip of white cardstock and cut it to go diagonal across my card.

I will add the link below for this set. It says Out of Stock but as far as I know it is not. It is just marked as that while it is the incentive set. After the next release it will be available for purchase from this link.

There are other sets from this release that I have sitting in my cart for my next order because this whole release was just so fantastic! I enjoyed playing with the new sets and hope you enjoyed the inspiration!
